Model PBL-STEAM sebagai Strategi Inovatif dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan pendekatan STEAM terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Tinambung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas VIII-A sebagai kelompok kontrol dan VIII-B sebagai kelompok eksperimen, masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes keterampilan berpikir kritis berdasarkan indikator Facione (2015) yang meliputi analisis, evaluasi, menyimpulkan, menjelaskan, dan merefleksi, terdiri dari 20 soal pilihan ganda dan 5 soal uraian. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji independent sample t-test setelah memenuhi asumsi normalitas dan homogenitas. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL dengan pendekatan STEAM efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa
