Pengaruh Kecanduan Game Online terhadap Prestasi Akademik Siswa Sekolah Dasar

Bermain game online secara berlebihan dapat menyebabkan kecanduan dan berkurangnya waktu anak untuk belajar dan bersosialisasi dengan anak-anak sebayanya secara langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecanduan game online terhadap prestasi akademik siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode regresi korelasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 51 orang siswa sekolah dasar (SD) di Kecamatan Langke Rembong yang berusia 11 – 13 tahun (kelas 4 – kelas 6 SD) dan memiliki kebiasaan bermain game online yang diambil menggunakan teknik simple random sampling.  Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen berupa angket serta dokumen nilai rapor siswa pada semester genap TA. 2021/2022. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis regeresi linear sederhana dan korelasi Pearsons Product Moment dengan taraf kesalahan (α) 5% (0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat korelasi negatif dan signifikan antara kecanduan game online dengan prestasi akademik siswa yang ditunjukkan oleh koefisien korelasi  dan koefisien regresi . Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi tingkat kecanduan siswa terhadap game online maka akan semakin rendah prestasi akademik yang dicapai siswa. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa dengan tingkat kecanduan game online yang tinggi cenderung mendapatkan prestasi akademik yang rendah. Oleh karena itu peran serta guru dan orang tua dalam melakukan pengawasan dan menemani siswa belajar sangat diperlukan. Orang tua harus menyediakan lebih banyak waktu menemani anak belajar dan tidak menyerahkan tanggung jawab pendidikan sepenuhnya kepada pihak sekolah.
